2025 has been an incredible year for the whole team here at Curo Skin, as our filtered shower head has been honoured with a veritable trophy cabinet full of awards. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that our flagship product has become one of the UK’s most celebrated wellness tools - and we have high hopes that its success will continue into 2026!

 

We’re incredibly proud to have created something that’s making a real difference to people’s lives. A standout year for Curo Skin

The Curo Filtered Shower Head has been hitting the headlines throughout 2025, with recommendations and awards from some of the leading publications in the UK and worldwide.

 

This includes Glamour, Marie Claire, Woman & Home and WIRED, as well as expert health, beauty and wellness guide Get the Gloss.

 

We’re absolutely delighted with the success of a product that so many people worked so hard to create, and all in its debut year. Let’s take a look…

Get The Gloss Wellness Awards 2025

Every year, the experts at health, beauty and wellness guide Get the Gloss carry out extensive tests on some of the year’s most used and talked-about products.

 

After weeks of research and testing, a panel of 19 expert judges - from fields ranging from medicine and nutrition to hair, fitness and aesthetics - draw up a final list of the year’s most exceptional products.

 

In April 2025, the Curo Shower Filter was named ‘Best Wellness Newcomer’ in the Get The Gloss Wellness Awards 2025, winning Gold in its category. Nutritionist Daniel O’Shaughnessy, who judged the category, had some kind words to say about Curo Skin and our shower filter:

 

“I love the brand ethos of addressing skin and hair health with a shower filter that is both luxury and sustainable, particularly if you have a skin condition. It’s a simple thing to add to your wellness routine that can minimise the contaminants in water  – and potentially lessen  the number of shower products and moisturisers you use.”

Marie Claire Skin Awards 2025

Leading fashion magazine Marie Claire shone a spotlight on 22 products as its ‘next frontier in skincare’ as part of the Marie Claire Skin Awards 2025.

 

The Curo Skin Filtered Shower Head was one of the chosen few, with judge and skincare expert Andrew Donaldson-Wheatcroft saying of the product:

 

"This is exceptional. I have tried a couple of these kinds of products in the past, but nothing has given instant results like this. My hair feels incredible, my skin feels incredible, and I never knew a shower head could provide such phenomenal results."
 

Glamour UK: Best Hard Water Shower Filters

Earlier in 2025, Glamour UK magazine carried out an extensive review of the best hard water shower filters available to buy in the UK right now. While our Curo Filtered Shower Head may be new, it was included in the top 11 and named ‘Best For Dry Skin’.

 

The reviewer highlighted a number of features we’re particularly proud of ourselves, including the following:

  • It improves both skin and hair health while reducing dryness and irritation
  • It removes over 99% of chlorine and heavy metals from your waterIt uses 90% less plastic than many other filtered shower heads
  • There are flexible subscription options to keep your shower at its best, or you can make a one-off purchase if you’re not ready to commit yet. 

WIRED: Best Low-Plastic Shower Filter

Influential tech, science and culture magazine WIRED also ran a similar feature to Glamour UK this year, but this one was aimed at the US market - ‘The Best Shower Filters for Removing Chlorine and Lead From Your Water’.

 

And you guessed it - our Curo Filtered Shower Head was up there with the best options on the market right now. What’s more, it was named the ‘Best Low-Plastic Shower Filter’. The reviewer said:

 

“English brand Curo uses far less plastic than any other brand we've found, aside from a bit of polyester in the filter's mesh - and according to founder Harry Bilby, it's working on getting rid of even this tiny bit of plastic.”

The woman&home Beauty Awards 2025 features the 100 very best buys in every beauty category, each hand-picked by an expert panel of expert judges - as well as the magazine’s experienced beauty team.

 

The Curo Filtered Shower Head was named ‘Best For Skin Health’, with judge Dr Catherine Fairris saying:

 

“Living in a hard water area, I immediately noticed that my soap suds washed away more easily, my skin was softer, and my hair felt cleaner,”
